Dr. Alan Stoughton

Originally from Crystal Lake, IL, about an hour north of Chicago, Dr. Stoughton graduated from Northwestern Health Science University with a Doctorate in Chiropractic in 2004. He returned to his hometown to practice for the next 9 years before moving to Colorado's Front Range in 2013 for the biking and climbing. Once here, he developed interests in backcountry skiing and whitewater rafting, and on the right day he has a hard time deciding which to do! In 2023 he moved to the Arkansas River Valley full time with his wife, Laurel, their two dogs, and cat to live a lifestyle that they find brings them more adventure, peace, and joy.

In practice, Dr. Stoughton likes to keep it simple by saying that "chiropractic is just making things work the way they're supposed to". A Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician, Dr. Stoughton uses chiropractic adjustments, dry needling, and therapeutic modalities to reduce pain, speed healing, and improve athletic performance in all patient populations.

He believes that he is in a position from which he can help anyone walking through the doors of the office with a combination of experience, education, and empathy. His goals for his patients are to keep them as active as they'd like to be and living the highest quality of life possible.

Dr. Mitchell Gerk

Dr. Mitchell Gerk, was born in Salida and grew up in Howard. He attended Cotopaxi High School, where he actively participated in football, basketball, and baseball. Throughout his athletic career, frequent sports injuries were massively improved through chiropractic care, sparking his passion for the field. Dr. Gerk later attended the University of Colorado-Boulder- and worked in the medical nonprofit sector before discovering chiropractic care as his true calling. He pursued his chiropractic education at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa.

Dr. Gerk believes in the chiropractic philosophy that the body is meant for optimal function. He understands that sports injuries, car accidents, or even prolonged sitting at a desk can disrupt the body’s natural movement patterns by impacting the nervous system. With chiropractic care, Dr. Gerk works to help every patient achieve their functional goals by facilitating proper nervous system and movement mechanics. While he loves to serve all generations, Dr. Gerk particularly enjoys the challenge of working with pregnant women and children and is a Webster-certified chiropractor to specifically aid pregnant women.

Outside of his professional work, Dr. Gerk enjoys spending time outdoors—whether it's skiing at his home mountain, Monarch, guiding or private boating on the river, hiking, or fly fishing. Dr. Gerk is thrilled to return to the Arkansas River Valley!
